1. How can I participate in the Conference on Stress and Anxiety?

 

You can present your papers in four modalities: invited symposia, oral presentation, poster presentation and passive participation. Presentations are expected to be original research. This may be the exploration of a previously un-researched issue, or the reevaluation of existing work in light of new methodologies. Please, specify the type of your contribution by using the proper form on „Call for abstract/Abstract submission” page. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to decide on the final presentation method. Please, follow „Call for abstracts/Instruction for presentation” page for further instructions.​​​

2. How do I register for the STAR and what is the registration fee?

 

Please, visit the „Call for abstracts” page to find registration form for available ways of participation and „Registration” page for more information about registration fees.

3. How much time will be dedicated to each form of presentation?

Symposia are 90 minutes, inclusive of discussion among presenters and the audience.

Individual oral presentation last 15 minutes with 15 minutes more for discussion with the conference’s participants.

Posters are scheduled within one hour poster sessions. Poster presenters may set up their poster before the session begins during the posted setup times. If your poster proposal is accepted, the scheduling notice you receive will include the time for both the poster session and setup.

4. What is the Call for Abstracts?

The Call for Abstracts is  STAR’s request for proposals of completed research to be presented as symposium, oral presentation or poster. Abstracts should be submitted online via STAR website.

5. How should I submit an abstract or participant form for the conference?

 

To submit an abstract and participant form for the STAR, individuals have to submit a document online. For submission requirements, examples and additional details about submitting a proposal online, please visit the “Call for abstract”' page. 

There is no possibility to submit an abstract via e-mail or fax.

6. Can I modify my paper, presentation or poster, after it is submitted?

Yes. Please contact organizers at 39star2018@gmail.com prior to the deadline for submission of proposals (until 2018).

7. How will proposals be evaluated?

After your proposal is submitted online, the organizing committee assigns the proposal to a team of appropriate reviewers. The readers evaluate the proposal individually and then compare their scores. They look for originality, scope and depth of research, and attempt to assess whether the paper will make a contribution to the field. Furthermore, the readers consider whether the proposal has followed the rules for submission. Based on the reviewers’ comments, Scientific Committee will make the final decision on the type of the presentations.

8. Can I substitute a different abstract after my proposal has been accepted?

No. Your abstract was judged and accepted on the merits of the proposal. You cannot substitute different materials after your proposal has been accepted. 

9. Can I present an abstract that has already been, or will be, presented at another conference?

It is expected that any presentation made at STAR is original and has not been previously presented. 

10. Why my symposium, presentation or poster proposal may be rejected?

 

There may be different reasons why a proposal can be rejected. It is possible that the reviewers decided the proposal does not make a contribution to the field, or that it was one of several abstracts on the same topic. It is possible that the proposal did not follow submission guidelines. Due to the high volume of submissions, the Organizing Committee may not respond to inquiries about rejections.

11. When will I be notified of the application acceptance?

The author will be emailed with a notification of acceptance by the Scientific Committee till   2018.

12. If I cannot attend the conference can someone else present my paper?

 

If the urgent situation forces you to cancel participation in the conference, please contact organizers at 39star2018@gmail.com and inform them that you will not be able to participate in the conference. If you are the chair of a symposium you should also inform your panelists to see if one can step into your role as chair, and then inform organizers as well. 

13. Where can I find more information about hotel reservations?

The Organizing Committee prepared a list of the most popular hotels in Lublin grouped by their standard. Please, visit “General Information/Hotels” page to find the key information – name, address, phone number an approximate cost of accommodation.

14. Will I get a certificate of attendance?

Certificates will be distributed during the conference only to participants who registered and actually appeared on site. It will be possible to receive it at conference reception.

15. How to pay registration fee?

The registration fee can be paid by bank transfer using information provided at “Registration/About registration” page. Please, remember to put your first and last name and „STAR Lublin 2018″ in the bank transfer title.

16. What is included in the registration fee?

For all registered participants all sessions are included in the standard and reduced registration fee: symposia, oral presentation and poster sessions. Conference materials are also included. Registration fee also includes lunches as well as coffee breaks. Registered accompanying persons don’t have access to the sessions , and don’t receive the abstract book.

Social events (welcome reception, farewell reception) are also included, and registered accompanying persons are welcome.

17. Is there a possibility to receive an invoice and confirmation of delegation after the conference?

Yes. You can ask for the invoice by filling the registration form by data necessary to create it. The document will be available to take at conference’s reception during the event and there will be also possibility to confirm delegation.
